I worked as an independent consultant with ActionAid UK, Action Aid Sierra Leone and Action Aid Nigeria to investigate the challenges and needs of adolescent girls in Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
The project was a one-year project wherein I served as a research consultant and facilitator with girls in my country, Sierra Leone as I facilitated the research process and trained the girls on key aspects of research including research methods, research ethics, data collection, data analysis and how they can tell their own stories. This project is a testament of the power of girls’ agency to create change and champion advocacy around critical issues that they are faced with. As an African feminist-activist, I am glad I got the opportunity to be part of this incredible research work wherein we employed an intersectional feminist and decolonial approach. The research report is published by Action UK in January 2025.
